Absolute Corporate Events has launched a new awards initiative, ‘Aced By ACE’ to recognise and celebrate the very best in the MICE Industry.
The awards will focus on several destinations and cities globally and will be given to the best DMC’s, hotels, venues and events spaces in those destinations.
MD and owner of Absolute Corporate Events Chris Parnham said of the awards:
“I have asked my team and my clients to share their experiences of stand-out venues in cities around the world, and we are using this feedback to recognise those that, in our opinion, are showing something very special. This could be the facilities or services provided or the experience offered, but most importantly, the care and passion shown by its staff. We are looking in particular for those venues that deliver a heartfelt, genuine promise of exceptional service and gratitude to the guest”
The first city to win awards is Copenhagen with 10 acclaimed hotels named as winners and listed for particular areas of greatness.
Claire Okrafo-Smart, ACE Director of Incentives, explains why she loves Copernhagen:
“What I love about the Danish capital is that she’s continually evolving, reimagining Copenhagen’s rich history in to ultra-modern, cutting edge hotels but with touches of nostalgia. For me, one of the most exciting cities outside London.”
Jacquie Freer, ACE Sales & Marketing Director added:
“Copenhagen is a truly green city with climate friendly citizens and a focus on sustainability. This is often reflected in the venues, many having bicycles you can use to travel around the city..”
The winners of the ten top venues for Copenhagen are as follows (in alphabetical order);
This restaurant-turned-hotel, a 1755 Neoclassical palace that was updated in the 1870s, remains an icon of evolving luxury. A historic, palatial site that has epitomized grandeur for more than 250 years.
The Sixties façade of this hotel has been transformed with mossy emerald-coloured tiles and some clever tree planting. The bedrooms are styled in a hipster-spartan style but avoid the smaller rooms – they really are small – and head for those on the sixth floor, which can’t be beaten for views.
This 31-bedroom hotel, set in a 1960’s transformer station (reminiscent of a James Bond movie set) is a luxe property with understated industrial vibes. Rooms (beware the Tiny category and splash out on the penthouse suite with a rooftop terrace) elegantly blend contrasting surfaces and textures.
This former factory has been reconfigured in a Riad style with a central courtyard garden surrounded by six floors of balconied apartments. At its epicentre is the indoor pool, lined with day beds and surrounded by a tropical Instagram wonderland. Their sustainable philosophy extends to the use of organic paint and compostable toothbrushes!
For Tivoli fans, Nimb’s location is unbeatable: it sits on the western side of the gardens, an instantly recognisable landmark, but the star of the show is the new rooftop swimming pool.
In this city of fanatical Nordic foodies, restaurants matter. Nobis’s Chef Jeppe Foldager, who not long ago won the acclaimed Bocuse d’Or, is already famous for his refined dishes. There is also an ultra-secluded (guests only) hammam with a sauna and cold plunge pool.
The only skyscraper, of sorts, in the city, you have to love Sixties design to love the Royal; the whole hotel is a homage to the style and functionality of the period but whatever your thoughts, the original suspended staircase in the lobby is a thing of beauty.
Situated [almost] opposite the stage door of the Royal Danish Theatre, this is a hotel with plenty of drama and intrigue. The buzzy lobby is furnished with bespoke velvet chairs and vintage Danish lamps and the roof terrace is beautifully lit with Moroccan lanterns.
The staff are simply brilliant and are happy to sort out anything from superb in-room cocktails or Pilates lessons to a boat ride around the harbour.
This 1920s department store is a lesson in sultry, regal palettes and subtle Middle Eastern vibes.
Located in the Latin Quarter, this 118-room property is comprised of three townhouses. A playground for creative types, there is so much going on, you will never want to leave the hotel. There are regular Port tastings in the lobby bar, as well as a rooftop terrace, a private cinema, and free concerts and DJs on Friday nights.
CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners, from everyone at ACE.
